Baby Giraffe

A Lil' Piece for a baby shower project to make a sweet gift for a baby boy loved and treasured by many.

Grow baby Giraffe and stand tall, the love of those surrounding you will carry you through.

As in all projects created by Lil’ Piece, something(s) of the client and or the reason for the project is the inspiration.

Here the inspiration comes from 3 pieces: the mom being a big fan of giraffes; lots of family surrounding them of love; both the mother and father were raised with scripture as their guidance.

At the baby shower, all the family and friends who attended were asked to: write a message to the baby for his future, a note of love, draw a picture, and or tell him of a story or memory they wanted to share for the baby to know of.

Each of these notes were written on paper provided to the guests to allow for optimal editing abilities and collected after the party for safe keeping till the editing was completed.

In the editing process, the software that I use allows for keeping the handwriting of the author for each note written by the family and friends but gives the opportunity to modify the words placement/location.

I then took each note and turned the messages into ‘balloons’ that carries the baby giraffe over the hills with their love and wishes for his future.

Google search found many options to choose when looking through its clipart selection for a cute little Giraffe to use for this project, and Pinterest had a large selection as well. I just happened to like Etsy.com the most, (minus of course, the copywrite logo since I purchased it. :P)

The frame used for this project was one found at Hobby Lobby as the “Black Metal Sectional Frames”, the style are bought with the length and width selected separately. When searching I did also find some of the same style here on Ebay.com, but chose Hobby Lobby’s since they had the size I needed at the time of shopping. Here at Lil' Piece I love getting the deals that Ebay.com and Lil' Treasure Hunts in fun stores with lots cool of 'lost' pieces to find, but sometimes I have to utilize what's in the stores at that time.

The text printed to the side is a contribution from myself, as my message to the baby: for his future and a scripture or two of encouragement. As that this was actually created as a gift for my first great nephew. So, granted that gave the me a lot of knowledge and insight to work with for the inspiration, but all the same creativity that I work into every Lil’ Piece project.

I also choose to give the original notes from the baby shower guests, to the family in a small keepsake book for their memories and to share with the baby as he grows.
