I created this project as a house warming present for a couple who were (and still are), all about music and sharing that love of music with as many people around them as they can.

When scrolling through my favorite idea site, Pinterest, I found some cute music lover quotes and images. I like using images of tattoo art for inspiration, since I know that a great tattoo artist knows when and what it is the perfect amount of details. Some of the prettiest/best tattoo designs I’ve seen are so intricate and precise with perfectly placed and inter woven complex details, while others are just the opposite as a simple black ink outline.

I chose the final image that I did as combination of two ideas. I liked the message the above images were telling me, “music is love”, but also music is like heart beats, in how the heart was worked into the music's rhythm line. The second inspiration came from the couple themselves (performers by trade), who have piano in most all of their work. I eventually came to the idea of ‘taking a few parts of one and some of another’, (I’m beginning to believe that’s my ‘MO’, my art style :P :) :) ).
The actual process of creating the drawing I finished with comes from the assistance of several photo editing software’s I have found and call my ‘lifesavers’, and ‘Essential Artists Tools’, along with my pencil's, glue's, hours and hours of time along with a large variety of material and media for all the different kinds of projects I create. I use these editors in most all of my projects, and each have their own unique options and creative abilities that can open sooooo many creative doors. A few I have found and LOOOVVEEEEE are : Luna pic; Pixlr; Imageonline; Cartoon yourself with BeFunky; 3D paint for Windows 10 and a few on apps for tablets and phones like Clip2Comics and PS Express.

The Lil’ Piece I finished with., is a result of the inspiration I took from 'the love of music' and the morphing concept, to the morphed ‘music’ as a piano into the heart beats that ‘are’ the music. I found a nice image of piano keys I liked (similar to the images above but not those exactly, this project was a few years ago :P :P ), I copied just the outline of them and did the same with a heartbeat rhythm. Then pieced them together using small sections of each. The next step and the most time consuming is the carboning (carbon coping from my paper drawing to the canvas) and 'painting'. As each of these steps are a 'hand drawn' processes. Unfortunately, I don't have any images of either of these steps 'in progress'. Since at that time I didn't think to record anything of the building processes to remember and show its progress for later dates. Since then, I have made several more in this same style and I have begun to do so.
The final steps are to seal this with a clear coat to protect it and then to gift the person(s) who the Lil' Piece is created for; and I believe it's been loved ever since. As it fits in quite well with the rest of their musical decor and forever telling a Lil' Piece of their story.
